Hello!!!

I have a cat whose name is Tom. He has been recently diagnosed with
diabetes. It is really sad news for me and my family, cause we treat
him like a family member and love him so much.

I researched many websites so far to look for cure and etc, but so far
liked only one website, which is www.catdiabetes.net. Just wanted to
share it with everyone whose cats are sick with diabetes as well.
As well as just want to ask if anyone can advice anything else about
this horrible sickness that making my cat to suffer.:((

Thank you so much.

Hi,

That's too bad for your poor kitty. Many cats do develop diabetes, generally
its managable though (through insulin injections), and most can cope quite
well. Also some cats actually have been known to spontaneously recover given
enough time on the meds.

How old is Tom? How is he at getting insulin injections? Let us know how he
gets on.

Took a look at that website... To be honest, I don't like it very much.
Seems like something one owner of a diabetic cat threw together in a week or
so. Don't know what I'd add, but it does seem... well amateurish (hope your
post wasn't meant to be a plug for your site ;) )

I have a feeling you hit this one on the head, Dale. I'm suspecting some
self-advertising, too.

There are several very good web sites (and I don't say that often about
veterinary client education) that discuss feline diabetes. Below are the
two I generally recommend and that we have as links on our hospital's
web site.

I didn't like to say, because its certainly possible that its not, but it
certainly strikes me that way. To be honest, I don't mind a little
advertising, I'd just appreciate it if the advertisers would stick around
for a while, chat and answer questions.

That does look like a good site. Makes me want to explore it. I would, but I
just remembered something I want to research for a friend of mine, so I'm
going to do that instead :).
